It's that time of year again where not only do you have to think of what to buy as a gift for your children but everyone else in the family is asking you the same questions...!
What is Elfy into? What does little Elfy want for Christmas ?
If you are anything like me, beyond one main gift I have no idea ! In comes our fast track, Stress Less way to make sure you are prepared with an answer, the bonus is that your children get things that they truly want.
Step 1 - Get some paper, a pen and a clip board - if you are a member of the Stress Less Christmas Programme, you can print off the festive looking Children's Wishlist found in your online portal or our private FB group.
Step 2 - Set aside a couple of hours to visit a toy shop - for older children either visit a shopping centre/outlet or set some time aside for internet browsing.
Step 3 - Let them examine everything and write down everything that they would like - It is important to let them know that they won't necessarily be getting everything on the list, but do let them put everything down.
Hey presto you have a ready made list of Christmas Gift Ideas for your Children.... This is a great activity for a weekend in October, ideally in the first couple of weeks in October so that you have time to research the best prices and buy those on trend items before they sell out.
I also found it super interesting the first year i did it, I discovered more about my children's personalities and interests ... my youngest child had a very definite theme of dinosaurs and robots and studied everything yet had a very small list. My middle daughter had a diverse list that really highlighted her curiosity in trying new things and apart from the the giant catwheel she wanted installed in her bedroom, everything was ticked off. My eldest, listed 4 pages of things she wanted! With my eldest again i could see definite themes so i was able to find gifts that matched her interests but maybe were more cost effective - I also asked her to go back through the list and mark her top 15.
Alicia has used this method for years and it really is a Christmas tradition now ... It works for us adults and the children absolutely love the freedom of being told - yes pop it on the list!
So what are you waiting for ...? !
Pop across to our social media @stresslesschristmas and let us know where you took the children and how long the list is !
If you've liked this tip and would love to see more or indeed maybe you could do with a little more help in organising the lead up to your Christmas, Message us to find out about our Stress Less Christmas Programme which runs from October - December ..
It's never too early to start preparing for Christmas and if you are reading this even in November - there is still time for you to Stress Less this year....
Thanks for reading
